Re: Proposed Cemetery Survey

As part of a voluntary community project, the “Hawkesbury on the Net – Cemetery Register” team are conducting cemetery surveys located on both public and private property in the area. The site survey involves transcribing and photographing headstones and mapping the cemeteries. This project will ensure that the historic Hawkesbury cemeteries will be permanently recorded for posterity.

Once a cemetery has been surveyed, this resource is then made available online at http://www.hawkesbury.net.au/cemetery/.

By providing this resource online we hope to help raise the profile of the historic cemeteries in the area, assist with maintaining their heritage, as well as to assist family history and local historians with research. Many families have connections to the Hawkesbury district yet are unable to personally visit.

Therefore can we have permission to enter your property in order to undertake the cemetery survey, at a convenient time.
