Biographies

Richard Palmer was employed by Mr. Hammerton of Hackney-mills (Mr Hammerton was the former Sheriff of London). Richard Palmer was charged along side JOHN INNES and JOSEPH WITH for feloniously stealing, on the 20th of May , eighty bushels of wheat meal, value 20l. fifty bushels of flour, value 20l. nine hempen sacks, value 20s. and a sack cart, value 20s. the property of Charles Hammerton , Esq. and the other for receiving the same goods knowing them to be stolen.
He was found guilty and sentenced to be transported for 7 years on 4th July 1798 (aged 38).
He arrived on the Minorca which convoyed with the Canada and the Nile, in Port Jackson on 14 December 1801.
He married Elizabeth Tetley (sometimes Titley) on 22 March, 1810 at 9 a.m. in Sydney
