Biographies

Born about 1824 in the UK, and recorded as living in Lincolnshire in 1848 and in 1850. Convicted of 'sheep stealing' on 9 March 1850 at Lincoln, and sentenced to 10 years transportation. Arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia on 5 April 1854 per Sea Park (a dedicated male convict transportation ship). Married Rebecca Bagshaw at York, Western Australia on 15 Apr 1861. They had 7 children together. He died 13 Mar 1903 at York and is buried in York cemetery.

His daughter from a previous relationship in the UK, Sarah Carr, was born about 1843. It is likely her mother died in the UK, and she emigrated to Western Australia some time before 1861. She married a convict named Joseph Carter on 8 Jan 1861 at Toodyay, Western Australia. They had 7 children together.

Thus Robert Carr had at least 8 living children, and many grandchildren, living in Western Australia at the time of his death in 1903.
