Biographies

Catherine McGarry(aka McGuire or Britton) was a dairy maid from Ireland and arrived in Botany Bay on 26th December 1839 on the Minerva II.
Her trial had been held at Fermargh on the 11th March 1839. She was 26. She got her Certificate of Freedom on 24 Jun 1846.

She married Hamlett (aka Samuel) Pollitt on 16 April 1844 in Campbelltown, New South Wales and they had eight children.

Catherine died on 22 January 1884 in Carcoar, New South Wales, at the age of 65.
