*In company with William Savage"Indefatigable" , James was convicted at Middlesex Gial Delivery of feloniouslu stealing a handkerchief the property of Thomas Gould to the value of 1/6 on 20 June 1814.
*Both were found guilty and sentenced to life transportation.

James was born about 1792 in London England & was married to Ann Williams with three children evidenced Maria about 1810 , Mary Ann 1811 &James Henry about 1814 at time of his 1814 conviction.

James aged 21 was convicted of steal a handkerchief to value 1/6 at Middlesex Gaol Delivery and sentenced to life transportation

James arrived Sydney aboard Indefatigable in 1815 after departing England Oct 1814, Indent indicates brickmaker

James was already married with two surviving children . His wife Ann & children Mary Ann & James Henry followed with other convict families in convict ship Northampton arriving Sydney 24 Jun 1815

James was soon sent to Newcastle & his wife applied to the Governor for permission to follow (granted) they were soon together in Newcastle.

A further seven children were born ; Thomas 1817, William 1819, Eliza 1821, George 1824, John 1826, Edward 1829 & Charles Frederick 1831

George died late August 1832 in Newcastle & is buried Parish of Christ Church Newcastle

George's widow Ann subsequently remarried James Wells (Fame 1817) & had one known child. She died 27 May 1858 in Newcastle & is buried Christ Church Newcastle
