Biographies

William was convicted of Forgery - counterfeiting money and transported to Australia aboard the Arab 3rd July 1822. His parents were possibly from Chelmsford. He was convicted at Essex on 11 March 1822. William was granted a bond pardon on 21 July 1837. William was the first post master general in Geelong who organised mail to travel directly from Geelong to England rather than via Melbourne (this has been confirmed with Australia Post). Not much is known about his whereabouts after this time.
