Biographies

Charles, along with two of his brothers, was sentenced in August 1813 at Omagh Co. Tyrone, to transportation for life, following a charge of burglary.
He arrived per the "Canada" (3) in August 1815 and was assigned to Jonathan Griffiths at Richmond.
In 1828 he married Elizabeth Hand, daughter of convicts Patrick Hand and Catherine Hatch.
He obtained his Ticket-of-Leave and a Conditional Pardon and became a successful farmer at Kurrajong.
Charles died in 1869 and was buried in the Catholic Cemetery at Windsor.
Elizabeth followed their children to Quipolly near Quirindi where she died in 1894.
