Biographies

Born in Colne, Lancashire June 1818, baptised at St Pauls, Blackburn 26 July. Son of Henry Heys and his wife Susanna Towers. His family moved to Preston, Lancashire. I am descended from my maternal Hayes family and Constantine is my 3 x gt uncle. The Hey and Constantine families originate from Haworth, Yorkshire. He'd committed a previous offence and was sentenced to 6 weeks in the house of correction and to be severely flogged for Larceny in 1830. He was sentenced to 14 years transportation in 1831 for stealing one book. He was 13.
