Biographies

James was born on 10th October, 1808 in Halifax, Yorkshire, England
He died on 1st November 1881 in Surry Hills, Sydney, Australia
James appears to have been married to Zillah Schorey and after 7years marriages in England were dissolved if the family chose not to join the transportee. This seems to be what happened in this case. These details came from the 'Convict Anthology'

James Evers 1832 aged 24yrs sentenced at York for 7 yrs. transportation for having assaulted and robbed Abraham Smith on 31/10/1831
James was transported on the Transport ship Hercules II (3). Sailed from Downs 19/6/1832 arrived 16/10/1832
119 days sailing. Wm Vaughan was Master & Jn Edwards was Surgeon

James was assigned to Robert Futter of Argyle.

James married Martha Ireland at Yass on the 18/7/1842.
