Biographies

Thomas Aspery was tried at Lancaster Assizes Court 27 August 1817 for larceny and sentenced to 7 years transportation. Note the several spelling variations for the name Aspery. He arrived 14 September 1818 to NSW per 'Glory'. Significant to note a fellow convict (Michael Napthali) on the same voyage was later to be related to Thomas through marriage connections. Thomas was born c1789 in Birmingham Warwickshire England son of John Aspery & Rosanna Horton. Thomas married 7 October 1844 Eleanor Dunn (1801-1874) child of convicts Patrick (known as James) Dunn & Catherine Barry. Thomas died 21 September 1847 at Portland Head Hawkesbury NSW.
