Mary Ann Byers was granted Ticket of Leave 1 Jan 1844, and Freed by Servitude 22 Oct 1845.
On 1 Jan 1846 she married John Burnett DOYLE in Brighton Tas, and had two daughters: Elizabeth Doyle b 1 Mar 1848 Blackbush Brighton, and Eliza Jane Doyle b 5 Nov 1849 Brighton.

After all she had endured, married life and motherhood was short for Mary Ann as she died of influenza age 32 yrs, 27 May 1850. Both her daughters married and had families in Tasmania, they lived long and productive lives. John Burnett Doyle married again and had 9 further children.
