Thomas was born about 1807 Kilkenny Ireland and was tried and convicted at Tipperary on 29 March 1827!of "steal shops" and sentenced to 7 years transportation

Thomas arrived Sydney aged 20 aboard Eliza on 8 November 1827 with his trade noted "stable boy".

Thomas was convicted on 19 December 1828 of the murder of James McGrath (unidentified) on 10 July 1828 at North Richmond ( both were assigned convicts to Richard Sculthone) and sentenced to death.
