Biographies

Henry Dansie (1812-1881) was born in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. His parents were William Dansie (1769-1822) and Phillis Chapman (1793-1863).

Henry Dansie was transported to Australia on 8th June 1827 on the Prince Regent. His crime was theft with a sentence of 7 years imprisonment. It is believed that Henry stole a box of paints and a book entitled The Beauties of Bacon.

Henry received a Ticket of Leave on 17th October 1834. His trade is listed as being a laborer and he is described as being 5 foot 8 inches tall with a pale complexion, light brown hair and hazel eyes.
