22 July 1813 - Felonously stealing in a dwelling belonging to Alice Wheeler from John Hammond a servant to Lord Aylesbury. Co-accused Samuel McCrae.

24 July 1813 - listed on Prison Register Newgate Calendar - birthdate listed as 1794.

September 1813 - listed on Middlesex Verdict papers, recorded as not guilty.

September 1813 - warrant from the Old Bailey for James Woodland.

23rd September 1813 - listed on Prison Register for Newgate Calendar. Felonously stealing in a dwelling belonging to James Henderson. Co accused Peter Pearce.

October 1813 - listed on Prison Register for Newgate Calendar.

27th October 1813 - listed on Prison Register for Newgate Calendar as capital convict under sentence of death.

3rd November 1813 - listed on Prison Register for Newgate Calendar. Listed as age 19. This is listed as the date for his Trial.

4th, 6th, 7th and 8th of November 1813 - listed in the Middlesex Newspapers as stealing 4 silver spoons from a dwelling and receiving a sentence of death later changed to transportation for life.

7th December 1813 - Granted leniency on the condition of transportation for life to Australia.

22nd December 1813 - listed as having been given leniency and to be transported for the term of his natural life to the colony.

3rd January 1814 - On the Prison Register for the Retribution Hulk of Woolwich - Respited to Life list - Age 19.

5th March 1814 - On the prison register for the Retribution Hulk of Woolwich from which he was discharged in irons.

16th October 1814 - Arrived as a convict at Port Jackson Australia.

27th October 1814 - sent to Parramatta for distribution.

1818 - convict to John Fisher of Bringelly who applied for mitigation of sentence.

31 January 1819 - recommendation for ticket of leave.

1819-1827 - Listed as working for Mr Wentworth in Liverpool, Sydney at time unknown from transcript.

18th March 1827 - Conditional Pardon received to live in the Illawarra region.

14th April 1827 - Ticket of Leave - Allowed to remain within The Illawarra region. Birthdate listed as 1797 and native place as London. Date of trial listed as 27 December 1793 receiving a life sentence.

1827-1837 - Resided in Appin NSW at time unknown from transcript.

23rd September 1834 - listed in transportation records as his native place being Liverpool and birthdate as 1794.

28th March 1837 - Conditional Pardon certified. listed in 23rd September 1834, received 18th March 1836.

28th April 1837 - conditional Pardon listed in NSW gazette.

24 January 1843 - Catholic Marriage to Mary Masterton in St Mary’s Church Sydney. Listed as living in Dapto.

1844 - James Woodland (son) born.

19th September 1847 - Christopher Woodland (son) born in Dapto NSW. Was married in Appin 26th November 1870. Christopher Woodland (grandson) was born in Appin 24th November 1881.

1849 - Edmond Woodland (son) born.

1849-1850 - James either dies or leaves the family. No death certificate has been identified as belonging to him.

1850 - Mary Masterton marries John Doyle.
