Biographies

Born 1778 in Farnworth, Lancashire, to John and Betty. Married Elizabeth (Betty) Barns in Deane, Lancashire in 1797. Recorded trade is Ploughman.

Charged at the Chester Assizes with receiving stolen goods in 1828, found not guilty. Tried in April 1829 for receiving stolen goods, found guilty. Sentenced to 14 years transportation to VDL. Transported on the Southworth. Departed London on 23 June 1830 and arrived at VDL October 19th 1830.

Hospitalized with scurvy on 21 October 1830.

Died 8 November 1837.
