Born William Mercy April 19, 1821 St Briavels, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom, died July 28, 1887
Mugawa, Northampton, Western Australia, Australia.
Arrived on the convict ship Sea Park 5 April 1854. Convicted of housebreaking and stealing 3 watches with William Fennel who received same the sentence and arrived on the same ship. Sentenced 7 Aug 1850 Gloucester Assizes to 10yrs. Ticket of leave on arrival. Conditional Pardon Date 18 Oct 1856. Worked as Blacksmith in Northampton. Convict No 2870.
He was 5' 8 3/4" with dark brown hair, hazel eyes, dark complexion, stout, oval face and a scar on his upper lip. He was married with a daughter when transported, he married Mary More the daughter of another convict in Northampton WA. They had 10 children, one stillborn.
