Biographies

Anne Crawley was born November 1811 in Nevan Meath Ireland and Baptised 5th November 1811 as Roman Catholic, Was living in London England when she was caught stealing a mans watch and was sentenced on the 14th January 1830 at the Middlesex court to 7 years transportation to Australia, She departed Spithead on board the convict ship " Melish" on the 6th June 1830 and arrived Van Diemans Land on the 22nd September 1830,She Married a fellow convict, John Cord, on the 25th August 1834 in Sorell Tasmania, they had 3 children, 2 girls & 1 boy, she died in July 1840 aged 29 years and was buried on the 30 July 1840 at St Georges Church Sorell Tasmania.
