Biographies

Baptised 22/03/1722, son of Hugh Moneypenny and Eleanor nee Whithey
Hugh Moneypenny was convicted of stealing and asked to avoid a trial by pleading guilty and was willing to serve His Majesty in any way. He was sent to America as a bonded servant.Hugh died in 1799 and RICHARD appears to have lacked a father's attention. He was twice convicted of theft, first at the age of 15. He lived at at the home of his mother's in-laws for a short while Transported for stealing a coat his second offence although found guilty of numerous burglaries. He was given 50 lashes in 1792 for burglary. No further records found
