Biographies

John Newton (born c1818) son of Thomas and Hannah Newton.

Convicted for pickpocketing a handkerchief worth 5p with 2 accomplices. Sentence 7 years transportation.
An accomplice was 15 year old younger brother George Newton who was not even tried.

Allegedly John Newton was married to Hannah (Née White) Newton and sired at least 1 child. However census records indicate that younger brother George was married to Hannah and was father of the children.
