Research notes

John Rodger, son of John Rodger/Sarah Hunter. John was born in Parkhead, Glasgow in 1822. 1st 'crime' at age 16 years, along with other teenage lads, stole apples from a neighbour's tree.

In 1838 John and a few friends in Parkhead removed clothing from the back of carriages which were conveying folks to and from Glasgow (1838)

John's final crime was stealing used clothing from clotheslines in back greens in the local area. John was sentenced to transportation for 7 years as a result of this.
