Biographies

Jew Boys Gang; This group stole and terrorised people as the moved about areas west of Newcastle (Scone, Dungog Maitland etc) till their actions led to the shooting murder of a shopkeeper James Graham at Scone on 21 December 1840. Robert was a member of the gang along with George Wilkinson alias Edward Davis "Camden 1833", James Everett "Mangles 1833" , John Shea " Calcutta 1837, John Marshall "Clyde 1832 & Richard Glanville "Lord Lyndock 1838". Authorities quickly formed and chased down the Gand till they were all captured and bought to trial at Supreme Court on 24 February 1841. All were charged with bush ranging with Shea charged murder and they others aid abet murder. All six were convicted and sentenced to death and hanged on 16 March 1841 in Sydney NSW.
