Biographies

James Kiss had two children with Elizabeth Perry, the wife of James Ruse. They were Ann Ruse Kiss born about 1802 and William Kiss 1806-1853. It had previously been assumed that the Ruse family had adopted Ann and William. Their mother had been dismissed by historians as their biological mother as she was married to someone other than their father. However, DNA testing confirmed that Ann and William were the biological children of Elizabeth all along. Further specialised testing was carried out by the greater family to confirm this without a doubt.
