200TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BATTLE OF VINEGAR HILL
Don't forget from Sunday 29 February to Sunday 7 March 2004 a series of major regional events to commemorate the bicentenary of the Castle Hill Rebellion and the Battle of Vinegar Hill will be happening. Edward Moyle aka Miles (1757-1838) First Fleet Convict & was buried at Windsor in 1838. The following descendant is looking for any assistance with locating his birth possibly abt 1756/57 & place. He was convicted at Launceston, Cornwall Assizes on 19 March 1785 and his marriage but no reference to his birthplace or parents' names. McCABE & HAYNES/HAINES FAMILY
Information sought on Ann McCabe daughter of Alexander & Catherine McCabe, b 1820, bapt 28/8/1823 married Edward (alias Haines) Haynes son of John Haynes & Mary Latham, b 1802 bapt 07/11/1802 Manchester England arrived 1822 Guildford(5) 1836. AUSTRALIA DAY ACTIVITIES
Hawkesbury Historical Society have organised an Australia Day Dinner at Trentino's on George, in Windsor on Monday 26 January 2004. The Guest Speaker is the Stephen Pringle, Member for Hawkesbury who is going to talk about Colonial Naval history in Australia. For more information contact Judy Newland on 4572-3007.
