New Hawkesbury family history books - now available

Years of Hardship / Compiled by Tom Croucher

"Years of Hardship" tells the story of Catherine Edwards who arrived with the 3rd Fleet in 1791, a transportee on the ship that brought the first Irish convicts to NSW. The book costs $35 per copy. Grono - A Captivating Captain & His Descendants / Compiled by Lee Buchanan & Robert Taylor.

Following a Family Gathering at Windsor two years ago, many Grono descendants met for the first time, sharing stories and family information. These descendants of John and Elizabeth were keen to publish a book. Amazingly almost 20,000 names have now been recorded on the John & Elizabeth Grono descendants register. It is a wonderful story not only of one man, but of the history of the Hawkesbury district and its people. The cost of the book is $30 per copy with packaging and postage $10 per book. Cheques payable to Robert Taylor, PO Box 11, Matraville NSW 2036.
