NEXT MEETING

Pease note that today (11th May) is the last time we meet in the Windsor Central Library. Our next meeting is on the 8th June and will be held in the new Tebbutt Room of Hawkesbury Central Library at 300 George Street. The meeting will commence at 10am but give yourself plenty of time to negotiate the new parking facilities and new building.

SHOWCASE 2005

The Society of Australian Genealogists will be holding its 10th annual Showcase – our two day family history event – on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 May 2005 from 10.00 am – 4.00 pm in Kent Street, Sydney. This year the focus is on encouraging those just starting their family history, as well as helping the more seasoned researcher who needs some new ideas and inspiration. During Showcase you can browse stalls with books, software and CDs to buy, and get research advice from government departments and transcription agents. SAG’s own volunteers and Interest Groups will be able to help with Australian and overseas research enquiries. There’ll be the chance to bag a bargain from the special SAG bookshop and our second-hand book stall. The sausage sizzle and refreshment stall will provide much needed respite from all that genealogy! Tickets go on sale on 1 April and remain at $10 for one day or $15 for both days if purchased before 25 May, or $15 on either day if purchased at the door – all GST inclusive. Entrance to all lectures this year will be by gold coin admission (payable on the day and in addition to Showcase entry) with monies raised going towards the SAG Building Fund. A great lecture programme will run over both days. Need more information? Contact SAG on (02) 9247 3953 or write to us at 120 Kent Street, Sydney. You can also get more details and order tickets online at www.sag.org.au
