John was born about 1795 and was convicted at Kent Special Session Gaol Delivery and sentenced to 28 years transportation ( an unusually lengthy sentence).

John arrived Sydney aboard Lord Melville on 21 October 1830 with an alias evidenced " The Doctor". He had Ticket of Leave 39/1263 issued Parramata NSW.
