John arrived Sydney aboard Lord Melville on 21 October 1830 with an alias evidenced " The Doctor".
He had Ticket of Leave 39/1263 issued Parramata NSW.

John was convicted in Feb1840 of murder on 20 October 1839'ofnDaniel McCarthy (Marquis of Huntley 1828) and sentenced to death.
