Stephen was born 20 SEPT 1797 Exeter, Devon, England to Nathanial Nessling and Mary floyd and baptized 9 Feb 1800 in Mendlesham, Suffolk, England
He Married Elizabeth Lawrence 1822 and had 4 children He was arrested for stealing sheep and sentenced to life and sent to Tazmania.
