INTRODUCTION TO FAMILY HISTORY CLASS 18 February

The Library is offering a free class on Thursday 18 February, 6.30-8.30pm. Learn the basics on how to research your family history accurately whilst using the various resources including those online. To book phone 4560-4460 or email programs@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au

FAMILY, LOCAL & SOCIAL HISTORY EXPO - SATURDAY 16 APRIL 2016

Hosted by Kiama Family History Centre the expo will be held at the Kiama Pavilion on Saturday 16 April 2016, and open from 9am to 4pm. This is a free event. BOOKSALE

Our booksale has shifted to the foyer outside the Library, in the Deerubbin Centre. Prices start from 20c and includes magazines and DVDs.

STUDY FAMILY HISTORY ONLINE

The University of Tasmania is offering an online course on Family History, without fees called Introduction to Family History and is designed for people interested in their own family histories or genealogy in general. More information http://www.utas.edu.au/arts/introduction-to-family-history

LIVING IN THE 80s

The Powerhouse is seeking your images of the 1980s. We are in the process of developing an exhibition of the 1980s & are seeking old photographs of people, places & events from this tumultuous & fluorescent period in Australia. See https://www.flickr.com/groups/australiainthe80s/

SURFING THE INTERNET...SITES FOR FAMILY HISTORIANS

Members with internet access should check out the following interesting sites. The Library has free access to the internet, contact 4560 4460 for bookings at Windsor & 4578 2002 for Richmond bookings. If you have your own laptop we also have free wireless. The password is available from the Information Desk.
