FAMILY HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATIONS

The month of August celebrates family history and many activities will be taking place all over Australia. To find out what else is happening go to http://familyhistorymonth.org.au/ The Library will be holding the following activities, please feel free to share with family and friends. These are all free events and will be held in the Library at 300 George Street, Windsor.

    Discover how to research Hawkesbury families during Family History Month.

  • BIRTHS DEATHS & MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES
    Thursday 4 August 11am-12.30pm
    This session will cover everything you that you will need to know about certificates.

  • TOP 10 TIPS FOR FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCHERS
    Thursday 4 August 2pm-3pm
    Find out what the top family history tips are and how to avoid the pitfalls.

ST PETERS RICHMOND CELEBRATES 140 YEARS

On Sunday 24 July, ST Peters Anglican Church will be celebrating 140 years. If you would like to play a part in the celebrations you can contact Josh Wilson on 0402 991 559 or current minister Wayne Tildsley at wayne@richmondanglican.com.au Events will kick off at 10am with family activities, then a free barbecue lunch, a celebratory service, more family activities and historical tours of the church and cemetery

Wednesday 10 August 10-11.30am Guest speaker Heather Garnsey will explore the Society of Australian Genealogist's comprehensive collection of cemetery records.

SURFING THE INTERNET...SITES FOR FAMILY HISTORIANS

Members with internet access maybe interested in checking out the following interesting sites. Hawkesbury Library Service at Windsor and our branch at Richmond, provides free access to the internet for members. FREE wireless is also provided if you have your own device or laptop. The password changes daily and is available from the service desks.
