FAMILY HISTORY CLASSES

WRITING WORKSHOP

Are you seriously interested in writing history? Jacqueline Kent will present a workshop for people interested in writing history, their memoirs or family stories. Limited places, free at Hawkesbury Central Library on Thursday 7 April 1pm-4pm. BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL – phone 4560 4460.

BACK TO ST BARTHOLOMEW’S DAY 2011

Come along and celebrate 170 years at the ‘church on the hill’ presented by the Friends of St Bartholomew’s. Located at Ponds Road Prospect on Saturday 9 April 2011 9.30am-4pm. Guest Speaker Assoc Prof Carol Liston ‘Farmers of the Blacktown district’ NSW Corps of Marines will demonstrate musket firing and perform drills. Trade stall, burial records to access and self tours of Old Prospect Cemetery. Reminder - Boat people 1788-1922 seminar ~ Saturday 9 April 2011

Blue Mountains Family History Seminar 2011 will focus on immigration.. Cost is $25 per person and includes lunch and refreshments. To be held at Springwood Baptist Church Hall, 313 Macquarie Road, Springwood. TMG Workshop

Conference & Family History Fair at Penrith ~ 12 & 13 March 2011

Reminder - The Makings of a City: Landlords & Tenants Conference ~ Penrith City Library’s 10th Annual History Conference will be held at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, next to Penrith Civic Centre. The Family History Fair is organised by Nepean Family History Society at Penrith Library on Sunday 13 March between 10am-4pm. Entry by Gold Coin. Societies, stalls and short talks throughout the day. Members with internet access should check out the following interesting sites. The Library has free access to the internet, contact 4560 4460 for bookings at Windsor & 4578 2002 for Richmond bookings. If you have your own laptop we also have free wireless. The password is available from the Information Desk.
