Book Launch at the Hawkesbury Museum

"Hawkesbury Personalities" - the Hawkesbury Historical Society Journal No. 3 (2014) will be launched on Saturday 29 March at 11am by Andrew Tink AM barrister, parliamentarian, historian, author of biographies of Lord Sydney and WC Wentworth. This journal is a joint effort with contributions by members of the Dharug & Lower Hawkesbury Historical Society, the Hawkesbury Family History Society, the Hawkesbury Historical Society, the Kurrajong-Comleroy Historical Society, and the Hawkesbury Branch of the National Trust (NSW) and includes 76 Hawkesbury related biographies covering the 18th to 20th century with portraits, maps and photographs.

At Hawkesbury Museum, 8 Baker Street, Windsor followed by light refreshments. Copies of the Journal will be on sale at the Launch, price $25.

GIANT BOOK SALE

Make sure you pop into the Library and check out our Giant Book Sale. Heaps of bargains with prices as low as 10c a book. DVDs, magazines, CDs also for sale until Friday 21 March.

NEXT MEETING

Gail Davis will be visiting us on Wednesday 9 April, from State Records and will be sharing the resources available for researching those that worked in the railways.

NEWS

The Library now released our two new Local Studies PCs which are available to access in the Local Studies area. These PCs have been updated with all the Local Studies CDs and material including Ancestry all the versions of Find My Past. Check them out and let us know what you think of the new layout.

FAMILY HISTORY CLASSES 2014

An introduction to family history class will be offered for free on 25 March 2014, 6.30pm to 8.30pm. You may have family and friends that are interested, please let them know. A class on researching soldiers is scheduled for April and a blogging class for beginners will be held in May. Phone 4560-4460 to book a place or email history@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au

The Library has free access to the internet, contact 4560 4460 for bookings at Windsor & 4578 2002 for Richmond bookings. If you have your own laptop we also have free wireless. The password is available from the Information Desk.
