FAMILY HISTORY CLASSES

The Hawkesbury Library will be holding the following family history classes at the Hawkesbury Central Library, 300 George Street Windsor. Classes are suitable for beginners or persons wanting a refresher course.

    With Michelle Nichols, Local Studies Librarian Have you come up against a brickwall in your family history research? Bring along your problem and see if we can point you in the right direction. SCHEYVILLE CELEBRATION

Sunday 15 May 2011 - 10am till 3pm A celebration and gathering of the diverse groups associated with the historic site Scheyville (named 1911). Over the past one hundred years, Scheyville has hosted a range of uses, the most important spanning socially, culturally and politically significant phases of Australian history. OLD GREAT NORTH ROAD WALK

Sunday 15 May 2011 The Hawkesbury Branch of the National Trust is organizing a group to explore the Devine's Hill and Shepherd's Gully sections of the road. After meeting at Wisemans Ferry, the group will wander up the Devine's Hill section of the Old Great North Road (2 km) examining all the points interest on the way, then either return via the same route, or by Shepherd's Gully track, which joins Settlers Road at historic Primrose Hill House, where parties can re-unite to visit the old cemetery along the road towards St Albans. Members with internet access should check out the following interesting sites. The Library has free access to the internet, contact 4560 4460 for bookings at Windsor & 4578 2002 for Richmond bookings. If you have your own laptop we also have free wireless. The password is available from the Information Desk.
