AN EVENING WITH ASTRONOMER FRED WATSON

Tuesday 29 November 6.30pm for 7pm-8.30pm Celebrated astronomer Fred Watson marks the centenary of John Tebbutt's death with an engaging account of Tebbutt, one of the 19th century's greatest astronomers with a world-wide reputation in the field. Refreshments from 6.30pm. A free copy of "Astronomical Memoirs" by John Tebbutt reprinted in 1984 will be given to each participant attending. INVITATION TO BOOK LAUNCH

Members are invited to attend the launch of a new book called "St. Matthew's Windsor an Anglican Landmark celebrating 200 years" by Ian Jack and Jan Barkley Jack, at 4 pm on Saturday 12 November, at St Matthew’s Anglican Church, Windsor. The Speaker is Professor The Honourable Dame Marie Bashir AD CVO. RSVP is essential bicentenary@windsoranglican.asn.au

SHOW AND TELL

Our final meeting for the year is a Show and Tell. Members are invited to bring along an item of interest to share. It may be a piece of memorabilia, a photograph or family history resource. It is also our Christmas Party so bring along a small plate, or something to share afterwards.

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

The Australian - Who Do You Think You Are? Series 7 will be repeated on SBS from Tuesday November 8 at 7:30pm. This includes Ray Martin, Toni Collette, David Wenham and Luke Nguyen.

SURFING THE INTERNET...SITES FOR FAMILY HISTORIANS

Members with internet access maybe interested in checking out the following interesting sites. Hawkesbury Library Service at Windsor and our branch at Richmond, provides free access to the internet for members. FREE wireless is also provided if you have your own device or laptop. The password changes daily and is available from the service desks.
