Biographies

William Blount, alias Brunt or Blunt was convicted at Hereford Assizes on 23rd March 1786 of Highway Robbery and originally sentenced to death. His commuted sentence was 'Life beyond the seas'. He was transported aboard the 'Neptune' where the convicts were deliberately starved, kept chained, and frequently refused access to the deck. Scurvy was rife.
