D/C reg # 699. (The National Archives (TNA) : HO 11/15, p.104) Exile. 10 yrs assault & robbery. Arrived on Maitland 9/11/1846 Prt Phillip. The residents of Melbourne refused to accept any more convicts, hence a reason for these people labelled as exiles rather than convicts (never to return to England).

5feet 7, fair complexion, 10 stone, erect gait. One of the original members of the detective force of Victoria, arrested 17/11/1870 for threatening the life of Bridget, his wife. Dismissed from the force. Went mining and became successful around Nuggety Gully (Vic). Buried Blackwood cemetary
