Biographies

Esther McIntyre was tried at Glasgow on the 28th April 1846 at the age of 19 and transported for Australia arriving on the 4th January 1847 on board the "Elizabeth and Henry". She married fellow convict, Charles Brown, on the 2 Jun 1851 at Hobart, Tasmania at the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Esther and Charles Brown had 5 known children between 1850 and 1857 all born in Hobart. She died on the 28 March 1860 at Hobart, leaving behind a very young family.
