Biographies

Stephen Jobson was born in Helions Bumpstead about 1822 and he is my First cousin 4 times removed. His father was the first cousin of my Great, Great, Great Grandfather William Jobson ( Marion ) also a convict. Stephen is also the brother of Sarah Jobson also a convict. Stephen was convicted of Entering a building and stealing therein. He was sentenced to 10 yrs transportation to VDL ( Tasmania)in 1844. Stephen married Ann Rutherford also a convict in 1853 while both were convicts but no Permission to Marry has been found. They had one daughter also named Sarah in 1854. This where Stephens story seems to end. Ann re-married a Samuel Dunnage in 1874 with her daughter Sarah taking this name. On the marriage certificate it states she was a widow but no death for Stephen can be found. Now Sarah's daughter was no cleanskin either and was gaoled for 6 months for larceny in New Norfolk.
