Biographies

Philip Heathcote was born in 1822 in Hognaston, Derbyshire, England, to his father, Ralph 46 yrs, and his mother, Sarah 43 yrs. He had eight brothers and one sister.

He was transported to Tasmania in 1848, having been convicted in 1846 of stealing (on three separate occasions) a saucepan, a pick, and six pecks of potatoes.

He died in Brighton, Tasmania in 1898 at the age of 76 years, as a pauper, from chronic Nephritis.
