Biographies

Recent DNA results have now proven that James TOFT (1758-1813) married Elizabeth MOBBS (1771-1850), NOT Elizabeth MITCHELL as previously believed and recorded by many researchers. This development also alters all previous research, including the birth and baptismal records, for James TOFT which is currently unknown (Aug 2018).
There are still links to the TOFT family of Godalming, Surrey but this only confirms that James' Godalming ancestors are linked with his London origins. Further research is required to connect the generational gap between the TOFT families of London and Godalming.
