Henry (my grt grt maternal grandfather) was tried at the Old Bailey on 10th Sept 1829 for stealing a handkerchief & sentenced 7yrs transportation to Australia. Ref: Proceedings Old Bailey 1674 - 1913

Henry was 18yrs old when found guilty. This was his 2nd conviction. The previous one he served 7yrs in Chatham. Trade: Shoemaker 2yrs & Tailor 3yrs. Native place: London Ref: Convict indent 675/p102

Henry & Jane's 1st child was born 27 March 1843. Named as William on the Baptism records - he was called John (who became my grt grandfather). 2nd son Henry was born 6 Jan 1845. Ref: NSW BD&M's

Henry changed his surname to WEEKES. From then on all members of the family were known by the name WEEKES. James, the 10th child was born 1864 Ref: NSW BD&M's

Henry, Jane & family lived at Campbells River in the Bathurst area. John is listed as a farmer on birth details of his children. Wife Jane died 21 May 1875 & was buried at Rockley. Ref: NSW BD&M's

Henry & Jane had been parted for some years when Jane died. I have not found a record of death for Henry Wicks or Weekes. Henry was the informant for his son George's death 27 Dec 1884. NSW BD&M

Henry was living at Broken Shaft Ck, near Orange NSW when informant for son George's death from typhoid fever. Ref: NSW BD&M's So I have hit a brick wall re Henry's death & where buried.

Henry & Jane's 1st born John (Weekes) married my convicts Isaac & Celia (Swift) Alexander's 1st born Mary Anne - my maternal grt grandparents, who lived & farmed in the Molong district of NSW. BD&Ms
