Biographies

John Alexander was born in Dublin City in 1802 was a carter and thatcher, was charged with cart robbery and sentenced to 7 years transportation in the
Dublin City court on the 9th April 1823. He left from Cork on The Medina" in September 1823 and arrived in Sydney in December 1823.
He was described as having a heavy complexion, and was 5ft 83/4 inches tall, and had brown hair with grey eyes. He had some tattoos as well on both hands and arms.
He married Ann Clark at St Mary's Cathedral on 25th November 1832 and they lived in The Rocks area. They had 3 children, Margaret Celia, Ann and Joseph.
