William was born about 1803?Scotland and was convicted at Edinburgh Court of Justiciary on 18 February 1822 and sentenced to life transportation.

William arrived Sydney aged about 19 aboard Eliza on 22 November 1822. there is an alias evidenced later "Moore"

William &John Goff &Edward Watson mutinied on Norfolk Island and were all convicted of murdering Lance Corporal Robert Wilson on 25 September 1826 and sentenced to death.
