His brother Samuel was sent to Port Jackson in 1838. It is unknown if the brothers were ever reunited.

James was born on 22 May 1805 at Alston, Warwickshire and died 6 Mar 1873 at Carlton, Tasmania. He married Abigail Rebekah Smith (1817-1893) on 6 Nov 1840 and they had nine children. He also had a child in 1836 with Margaret Elizabeth Newman (1815-dec) who was married at the time, causing him to be relocated to the other side of the Tasman Peninsula.

He was my great-great-grandfather.
