Nicholas was tried and convicted at Monaghan Ireland during 1826 of "pick pockets" and sentenced to 7 years transportation

Nicholas gained his Certificate of Freedom 33/0152 dated ;13 March 1833 and made application to marry Bridget Murphy (Southworth 1832) on 5 October 1836
