Biographies

Susan White arrived in Tasmania on the convict ship Gilbert Henderson on 24th April 1840, transported for 15 years for stealing a bundle from a child and disobedience to her mother. She was only 17 years old.

She married William Males on 12th May 1856 in Hobart and had 2 children, George Shadrick (b 1856) and Thomas (b 1860).

Susan died on 4th August 1888 and is buried at Section H4, Cornelian Bay Cemetery with her husband William in a family plot.
