Biographies

George together with Samuel Humes (Hercules 1802) & Charles Hill (settler) & John Place (Glatton 1803) & Philip Cunningham (Anne 1801) & John Neill (Atlas 1802) & John Brenan (Rolla 1803) & Timothy Hogan (Rolla 1803 & William Johnson (Rolla 1803) were considered the leaders of the Castle Hill Rebellion of March 1804 in which over 200 convicts and others rebelled against Colonial Authority of the time. George was convicted at Southampton Assizes on 2 March 1800 and sentenced to 7 years transportation and arrived Sydney aged about 22 aboard Glatton on 11 March 1803.

George was convicted by Court Martial for his part in rebellion and sentenced to death, he was hanged on 9 March 1804 at Castle Hill NSW
