Joseph was born about 1804 Waterford Ireland and was convicted at Waterford in 1812 and sentenced to life transportation

Joseph arrived Sydney aged 19 aboard Brampton on 22 April 1823 with his trade noted "carter".

Joseph partnered with Patrick Stagney, Stegney, Rigney???? And James Tomlins, Tomlius ( correct names ships unidentified) in robbery.

Joseph , Patrick & James were all convicted at Maitland Quarter Sessions of steal from house of Mary Stevenson & put in fear and all sentenced to death.
