Biographies

Isabella FARRIER, b. 1811 in Belfast, Ireland, UK,(daughter of Andrew FARRIER and Bridget), baptized 12 Feb 1812 in St Anne’s Shankill, Antrim, Ireland, UK,crime 17 Aug 1827 Stealing Cloak, tried 29 Mar 1828 in Antrim, Ireland and sentenced to to 7 Years. She was transported 26 Apr 1829 on “Edward” as a convict, firstly to the Female Factory at Parramatta then, following her participation in a riot in 1831 was sent to Newcastle where she was subsequently assigned to in Edward family, Newcastle. Her occupation was House Maid. She married Thomas Samuel RUTTER, 9 Mar 1832 in Newcastle, NSW and they settled in Morpeth, NSW. She died on 27 Mar 1876 in Queen St, Sydney, NSW - cause of death Hemiplegia and was buried 29 Mar 1876 in Catholic Cemetary, Balmain, NSW.
