Biographies

Bridget Finucane (c1804-1879) was tried 21 march 1827 at Limerick Assizes court Ireland for stealing wearing apparel from Mary Connors and wool from Honora Connors at the village of Ballybrood in Co Limerick. She was sentenced to seven years transportation and left Co Cork harbour 1 January 1829 and arrived at NSW per "Edward'(1) on 25 April 1829. She was aged 23 years in 1827. Her certificate of freedom was 34/0316 dated 1 April 1834. Bridget married another convict William Wells (c1800-1880) at St Mary's R/C Sydney 4 May 1832 and had issue of five sons and five daughters. The family were mainly at Sutton Forest, Goulburn and Yass NSW. Bridget died 26 June 1879 at Sydney NSW.
