Michael arrived Sydney aged about 19 aboard Medina on 29 December 1823 with his Indent showing alias "Pearce" and trade "weaver".

Michael and John O'Brien (unidentified) were convicted of robbery dwelling house of Stephen White at Liverpool NSW & highway robbery Hugh Taylor at Parramatta and sentenced to death.
